NOMINATIONS and ELECTION

Local Lodge Officers, Grievance Committees
and Chief Stewards

In accordance with IAMAW Airline Local Lodge 1833 Bylaws Article VI, Section 1, call is hereby issued for nominations of the Local Lodge positions listed below.

Nominations will be accepted at the dayshift union meeting on Thursday, September 10, 2009. An election (if needed) for these positions will be held Thursday, Oct. 8, 2009 at our regular meeting place, Eagles Post #3208, 9152 Old Cedar Ave., Bloomington, MN. The polls will be open from 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM in MSP and at the satellite polling stations in Chisholm, MN and Sioux City, IA, The polls will be open from 7:00 AM-7:00 PM. 

Members wishing to be nominated, but unable to attend the meeting may submit a written request to the Recording Secretary of the Local Lodge anytime prior to the start of the union meeting.  Candidates for any officer position of the local lodge must meet the qualifications as stated in the Local Lodge Bylaws, Article IV, Section 2. 

Requests for absentee ballots will be available in accordance with the Grand Lodge Constitution and Local Lodge Bylaws. “Members who reside in outlying districts more than 25 miles from the designated polling place, who are either confined because of verified illness, or on vacation, or on leave qualifying under U. S. Family Leave Laws or on official IAMAW business approved by the Local, District or Grand Lodge, or on employer travel assignments or reserve military leave” are eligible to receive an absentee ballot.”  Absentee ballot requests MUST be made in writing to the Recording Secretary by delivering in person or mailing such request no later than thirty (30) days before the election. It is important everyone understand that whenever the term “mail” is used in voting procedures, it means by the United States Postal Service. Requests for absentee ballots  MUST be received at the Local Lodge office no later then September 8, 2009.

2009 IAMAW DISTRICT 141 CONVENTION


In accordance with the provisions of Article V, Section 1, of the District Lodge 141 Bylaws, Official Call is hereby issued for nominations to the 2009 District Lodge 141 Convention. This convention call is only for members of United and US Airways in good standing and in Air Transport D. L. 141.

The District 141 Convention will be held September 21-25, 2009 at the Golden Nugget in Las Vegas, NV

Nominations for Two (2) delegate positions will be accepted at the regular union business meeting held at the Eagles Club Post # 3208 located at 9152 Old Cedar Ave., Bloomington, Minnesota on May 14, 2009.

If needed, an election for Two (2) delegate positions will be held on June 11, 2009 at the regular union business meeting held at the Eagles Club Post #3208 located at 9152 Old Cedar Ave., Bloomington, MN.

According to Local Lodge Bylaws, “members unable to attend the nominating meeting may nominate in writing, such nomination to be submitted to the Recording Secretary prior to the meeting. Delegates to conventions must have attended at least six (6) regular Local Lodge meetings during the twelve (12) months immediately preceding the close of nominations.
