Local Lodge Grievance Committees
and Chief Stewards
In accordance with IAMAW Airline
Local Lodge 1833 Bylaws Article VI, Section 1, call is hereby
issued for nominations of the Local Lodge positions listed
below.
Due to a conflict with the Grand
Lodge Convention,
Nominations will be accepted at the alternate
dayshift union meeting day on
Thursday,
September 4, 2008. The
election for
these positions will be held
Thursday, Oct. 9, 2008
at our regular meeting place,
Eagles Post # 3208, 9152 Old
Cedar Ave., Bloomington, MN. The polls will be
open from 7:00 AM-11:59 PM
in MSP and from at the satellite polling stations in Chisholm,
MN and Sioux City, IA, the polls will be open from
7:00 AM-7:00 PM
Members wishing to be nominated, but
unable to attend the meeting may turn in a written request to
the Recording Secretary of the Local Lodge anytime prior to the
start of the union meeting.
Candidates
must meet
qualifications as stated in the Local Lodge Bylaws.
Requests for absentee ballots will
be available in accordance with the Grand Lodge Constitution and
Local Lodge Bylaws. “Members who reside in outlying districts
more than 25 miles from the designated polling place, who are
either confined because of verified illness, or on vacation, or
on leave qualifying under U. S. Family Leave Laws or on official
IAMAW business approved by the Local, District or Grand Lodge,
or on employer travel assignments or reserve military leave” are
eligible to receive an absentee ballot.” Absentee ballot
requests MUST
be made in writing to the Recording Secretary by delivering in
person or mailing such request no later than thirty (30) days
before the election. It is important everyone understand that
whenever the term “mail”
is used in voting procedures, it means by the United States
Postal Service. Requests for absentees
MUST be received
at the Local no later then
Sept. 9, 2008.

NOTICE of ELECTION RESULTS
For Delegates to the District Lodge 141 Bylaws Convention
Nominations were accepted at our regular day-shift union meeting
on May 8, 2008 for two (2) delegates to attend the DL 141 Bylaws
Convention to be held Oct. 11-13, 2005 at Crown Plaza Hotel in
Jacksonville, FL.

As there were no other members nominated a motion was made and
seconded for a unanimous ballot to elect them as delegates.
No election will be necessary at the June 12, 2008 day-shift
union meeting held at Eagles Post #3208, 9152 Old Cedar Ave.,
Bloomington, Minnesota.

Airline Local Lodge 1833 Bylaws, Article III, Section I, “The
members of committees established under this section shall be
chosen by the Executive Board with the approval of the
membership at the first regular meeting in December of each
year, unless specifically provided otherwise in these bylaws or
the IAMAW Constitution. The members so selected shall serve for
one year or until successors are chosen and qualified.
